The Columbus poet will celebrate the release of ‘What’s Left Is Tender’ at Prologue Bookshop on Monday, Aug. 18, reading alongside Michael Leong and Mandy Shunnarah.
Newly relocated to Columbus, the poet will celebrate the release of his most recent chapbook with a reading at Two Dollar Radio Headquarters tonight (Tuesday, Aug. 12).
Winners with local ties included Billy Ireland founder Lucy Shelton Caswell, who was inducted into the Eisner Hall of Fame, ‘Bone’ cartoonist Jeff Smith, and Billy Ireland curator Caitlin McGurk, among others.
‘Even though I’m here for the writer’s residency, in the first couple of weeks I started to experiment with different methods of drawing and crafting again,’ the Columbus artist said from Robinson’s East Side home in early July. ‘And it reminded me of what I naturally felt drawn to when I was younger.’
The Columbus author will celebrate the release of 'We Had Mansions' at Two Dollar Radio Headquarters on Tuesday, July 22, reading alongside Nathan McDowell, Travis Chi Wing Lau, and Sara Abou Rashed.
The author, whose debut novel released last year via local publisher Two Dollar Radio, will be in town for this weekend’s Columbus Book Festival, which takes place at the Main Library on Saturday and Sunday, July 12 and 13.
The collective will celebrate the release of its 5-year-anniversary issue with a party at Holton Park (276 N. Eureka Ave.) from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, June 29.
The exhibition, now on display at Urban Arts Space, features paintings by Herman’s husband, Glen Holland, along with a short film and a series of associated events that all extend in some way from the author’s new essay collection, released in March.
The iconic writer and illustrator is the subject of a new retrospective show, ‘Write It Down, Draw It Out: The Comics Art of Carol Tyler,’ currently on view at the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum.
